What Is The Full Form Of PCS?

The PCS full form is “Provincial Civil Service”. Administratively, PCS falls under the purview of executive branch Government branch of Uttar Pradesh and is thus classified as a state civil service (Group A and Group B). There are multiple rounds of testing included in this state civil service exam.

PCS academic qualifications

Candidates for the PCS must hold a Bachelor’s Degree or its international equivalent.

Individuals applying must be between the ages of 21 and 40.

Candidates for specific posts who wish to take the PCS exam must additionally pass a series of medical examinations following the interview to determine whether or not they are physically qualified for the position.

Working of PCS

This is the administrative arm of the Uttar Pradesh state government’s executive branch, classified as Group A state service. In that state, it’s also commonly referred to as the “feeder service” for the Indian Administrative Service.

At its divisional level, PCS officials are frequently assigned as state deputy commissioners. Additional Commissioner (Revenue), Additional Commissioner (Development), and Additional Commissioner (Executive) are three of the most prevalent titles for these positions, each found in almost half of all departments.

A PCS officer’s role is to collect land revenue and act as the court itself in matters of revenue and crime in order to prevent criminal offences from occurring across the state.
