The intensive care unit is the full form of ICU, referred to as a specialized hospital room, where intensive care is provided to patients. Also refers to the critical care unit or intensive treatment unit. In this division, those patients treated who are suffering from illness and serious accidents. Those patients are transferred to the ICU with life-threatening illnesses or injuries that require immediate and continuous supervision by a team or staff of specialist nurses and physicians. This team is well qualified and skilled to assist badly injured or critically ill patients.
