AIPMT Full Form

What Is The Full Form Of AIPMT?

The All India Pre-Medical Test, commonly known as AIPMT, was a national level medical entrance examination in India. It was conducted annually by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to offer admission to undergraduate medical courses in various medical colleges across the country. The examination was based on multiple choice questions and tested the student’s knowledge in subjects like physics, chemistry, biology and English.

AIPMT was considered one of the most prestigious and competitive medical entrance exams in India, attracting a large number of students from across the country every year. The examination was held in the month of May and the results were usually declared in the month of June. Based on the performance in the examination, students were selected for the undergraduate medical programs offered by different medical colleges in India.

In 2016, AIPMT was replaced by the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), which became the sole medical entrance examination in India. NEET was introduced to bring uniformity in the medical entrance examination system and to provide a common platform for medical aspirants across the country.

Although the full form of AIPMT is not used anymore, it still holds a special place in the minds of many medical students and is remembered as a benchmark for medical entrance exams in India. The examination continues to be remembered for its rigorous nature, the large number of applicants, and the high level of competition it generated among students.
