Laxmi Narayan Institute of Engineering and Technology, popularly known as Nagpur University, was established in the year 1942 and is situated in Nagpur. It is a government/public engineering institute, affiliated with RTMNU (RashtrasantTukadojiMaharaj Nagpur University). This technical institute offers education in the field of Technology and Chemical Engineering.

The college campus is spread over 78 acres of land, including a library, classrooms, hostel accommodation for girls & boys, a gym, various technical laboratories. LIT Nagpur has 9 departments including Chemical Engineering, Food Technology, Paper & Pulp Technology, Petrochemical Technology, Oil Technology, Engineering Sciences, General Engineering, Surface Coating Technology, and many others.
