Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University is a state university, also known as SMVDU. It came into existence in the year of 1999 under an Act of the J&K Legislature. It is located near the memorial of Mata Vaishno Devi, near Katra in the state of Jammu & Kashmir. It has one Nursing College and four streams including 15 schools. This university is spread over the 470-acre land, approved by the UGC, recognized by CIC, AICTE, and COA.
