Sam Higginbottom Institute of Agriculture, Technology & Sciences, which is also called as SHUATS, Allahabad is one of the oldest institutes in India. It was established in the year 1910 in an area of 1000 acres. In the year 2016, it became a full-fledged university. It was the first institute in India, which gave a degree in Agricultural Engineering field. They offer courses in seven different streams like engineering and technology, theology, science, management, agriculture, health sciences and social sciences. There are 60 different departments, four advanced research centers and fifteen constituent schools as well. They offer more than 160 courses and every year 2100 students enroll in this institute. It offers education only in full-time mode and you will have to apply for the courses through online mode only. The institute has tie-up with many corporate houses for providing campus placements to their students. They also offer different scholarship programs.
