IIT BHU, also known as the Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi started in the year 1919 as a popular engineering college of Banaras by the well-known Madan Mohan Malviya. Its next stage saw the huge development of the College of metallurgy and mining, and the college of technology. In the year 1968, the former BHU engineering colleges known as BENCO, Techno, and MINMET were merged for forming the IIT-BHU. More than 195 M.Tech graduates have got a great placement with a salary package of INR 8.09 LPA. For the B.Tech graduates, the placement reached a higher limit where out of 197 graduates, 180 students got the placement with INR 15.2 LPA.

Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi was the first college in Uttar Pradesh for offering degree courses in the field of Pharmaceutics, Electrical Engineering, Metallurgy, and mechanical engineering. Since then it is serving various students with its quality education. This institute is sprawl over 400 acres of land and approved by the UGC and AICTE.
