On August 16, 1961, Rourkela Science College opened its doors, and on July 1, 1963, the state of Odisha assumed control. In 2002, as a result of the college's impressive academic progress, it was granted independent status.

Academic excellence and creating a centre for exceptional learning are the goals of this prestigious university.

The vision of this college is to encourage students and instructors to do their best work while also learning and being creative.
