Founded in the year 1999 by Kodava Education with the main goal of delivering high-quality technical education to students aspiring from Kodagu district as well as other parts of the country, the CIT in Kodagu is one of the country's premier technical institutions. The Central Institute of Technology (CIT) is accredited by the AICTE, New Delhi, and is associated with Visvesvaraya Technological University Belgaum, which is recognized by the Government of Karnataka.
The primary mission of the institution is to provide superior technical training and education that helps students develop skills that will help them succeed in their careers and contribute to the growth of the country's economy.
