The full form of UKG is “Upper Kindergarten” or “Upper Kinder Garden”. It is the first year of primary education in India, typically for children between the ages of four and five. UKG is considered as a preparatory class for grade 1, where children are introduced to basic concepts of reading, writing and mathematics. The curriculum is designed to develop the child’s cognitive, social and emotional skills. The curriculum also includes activities such as drawing, painting, music, dance, and physical education, which help in the overall development of the child. It is the foundation stage for the child’s education and hence it is very important for the parents to choose a good school for their child’s UKG education.
